Our Story

Plymouth Boat Trips is a family run business, operating cruises, private charters, foot ferries and fishing trips from Plymouth in Devon.

The company started out three decades ago as, Fish ‘N’ Trips, a small business founded on a life-long passion for fishing by Ben Squire. With a £1000 loan and a £500 grant from The Princes Trust, at the age of 21, Ben purchased a boat and took the first mackerel and deep-sea fishing trips from Plymouth. Since then, the business has flourished to become Plymouth Boat Trips Ltd, with a fleet of six passenger boats.

Fulfilling another dream, to serve the fresh seafood that he loves to catch, Ben opened The Boathouse, situated on the quayside where the boats depart. Since then, we’ve opened a further two restaurants in the city, The Hook & Line restaurant and rum bar in Plymouth’s vibrant Royal William Yard and The Terrace bar, restaurant and venue, positioned on Plymouth Hoe, with breath-taking ocean views. Each venue serves a wide variety of mouth-watering dishes, made using fresh, local ingredients.

With our fantastic team, we pride ourselves on delivering the best customer experience to all those sailing and dining with us.
