Cremyll Ferry Announces Changes To Fares
Sep. 2018
Plymouth Boat Trips Ltd, operator of the Cremyll Ferry is introducing fare rises, from Monday 17th September 2018, taking the price of an adult single ticket from £1.50 to £2, child single tickets and bikes will go from 75 pence to £1. Adult concession tickets will go from 75 pence to £1 and child concession tickets from 37.5 pence to 50 pence.
Owner Ben Squire said, ‘Changes to our pricing structure come as part of the company’s commitment to delivering the highest levels of service, with ongoing improvements.’
Since taking over the Cremyll Ferry operation, Plymouth Boat Trips has invested significantly to increase the fleet on this service, bringing in new, larger capacity vessels, modernising existing vessels and improving comfort and safety levels on board. Major improvement works have also been undertaken on the landing quays on both sides of the river.
The Cremyll Ferry is operating at the highest levels of efficiency, with increased crossings and newly trained staff to deliver a frequent and reliable service to customers.
Mr. Squire went on to say: ‘We are very proud to be delivering tangible improvements that mean a more efficient and safer Cremyll Ferry to our customers. Despite significant increases in our running costs through inflation and higher fuel prices, the changes being introduced are the first increase to fares in more than ten years and will enable us to continue to maintain the highest standards.’
He continued: ‘We have exciting plans ahead in the lead up to 2020, with the introduction of new vessels and continued improvements to operations. Ultimately, our aim will always be to keep fares as low as possible, while enabling us to offer an excellent service and deliver customer safety and satisfaction.’
