Cremyll Ferry

Take a trip on our historic foot ferry from Stonehouse to The Rame Peninsula, known as, Cornwall’s forgotten corner. Loved for centuries by all who have travelled on her, the Cremyll Ferry is one of Plymouth’s true gems and provides a gateway to discover this beautiful part of the South West.

Our eight minute ferry journey crosses the River Tamar, against the spectacular backdrop of Royal William Yard and Plymouth Sound.

Cremyll Ferry Information

Whether commuting or holidaying in Devon or Cornwall, our 8 minute trip takes you across the River Tamar, with spectacular views of Mount Edgcumbe, Royal William Yard and Plymouth Sound.

Cremyll Ferry Departs:

  • Admirals Hard, Stonehouse, Plymouth – Every 30 min’s; Quarter past & Quarter to the hour.
  • Cremyll Quay, Cremyll, Cornwall – Every 30 min’s; On the hour & Half past the hour.

Please refer to the ‘Timetable’ for precise timings.

No 34 Citybus from Royal Parade Plymouth (Plymouth City Centre) will bring you to the Cremyll Ferry departure point.

Cremyll Ferry Timetable

Starting 4th November 2024 we will be operating a temporary timetable, due to operating to/from the beach area.

MONDAY TO FRIDAY ONLY:
From 09:00am to 15:00 the ferry will run hourly & then convert back to every 30-minutes during peak service.

Normal timetable will resume once work is complete.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Due to urgent repair works the Cremyll Slipway is closed.

CREMYLL FERRY is operating to/from Cremyll Quay Wall at high water & from the beach area past The Edgcumbe Arms pub.

Due to a ramp boarding system in place, disabled and less able-bodied passengers are advised to make alternative arrangements until works are completed.

*Bikes & Prams will have to be folded and carried when the ramp is in use.  Staff will be on hand to help, but access may not always be possible (no electric bikes).  

Apologises for any inconvenience, we are working to ensure the continuation of the service with as little disruption as possible.

Please note, our ferry services are run on a first-come, first-served basis.

Ticket Options:

  • Tickets can be purchased via our online booking facility up to and including the day of travel.  Please note ferry tickets can only be purchased for the day of travel and do not guarantee a crossing time.
  • Cash and card payments are also accepted when boarding.
  • Tickets are non-refundable once purchased, please click here to view full terms and conditions.

PLEASE NOTE:

Our ferries are unfortunately not wheelchair accessible.
Our crew are on hand to provide help and assistance to less able-bodied passengers, while boarding, alighting and for the duration of the trip.
